CheckCpuID

What it performs

CheckCpuID reads the processor ID from a selected computer.

Prerequisites

Prerequisites for the use of CheckCpuID is a Windows network with domain structure. It must be installed on a computer running Windows XP. It should have been installed the latest service pack and it must have been integrated into the domain.

For installation and use an account with domain administration rights is necessary. For being able to read out the processor ID the computers have to be a domain member. Further the running OS has to be Windows 2000, XP or Windows 2003. 

According to article KB 885626 the MS Knowledge it happens
that a computer does not bootet after installation of service pack 2 for XP. A cause for it is a processor with the ID "Family 15, Model 3, Stepping 3". With check CheckCpuID such problem candidates let themselves be determined before.
